The nine-day course was organised by the European Refereeing Commission (ERC) in close partnership and cooperation with the Bulgarian Volleyball Federation (BVF), and it was designed to train and test candidates wishing to join the ranks of the international refereeing community.

As many as 23 young referees from 21 countries took part in the seminar that was divided into two stages - with a theoretical part followed by a practical one. All of the candidates finished the course on a positive note.

“You are the future of refereeing, and I am delighted that you are starting your international career right here,” said Lubomir Ganev, BVF President.

“Thank you for the trust and for the experience you shared with us. We also want to express our gratitude towards the BVF and the organisers of the seminar - we had excellent conditions, and we appreciate this a lot,” Boyan Zhelev said on behalf of the EIRCC participants.

Ms Bjelic and Mr Frans Loderus of the Netherlands who was assisting her during the course received awards from Mr Ganev in recognition of their work and contribution to the EIRCC.
