CEV President meets with Cyprus Minister of Education and NOC President

Nicosia, Cyprus, June 6, 2019. CEV President Aleksandar Boričić is currently paying a visit to Cyprus to have a series of high-profile talks with national authorities of the Mediterranean island. On Wednesday, the CEV President visited the Ministry of Education and Culture together with the President of the Cyprus Volleyball Federation, Dr Michael Krashias, to meet with Minister Kostas Champiaouris. Later in the day, Mr Boričić visited the headquarters of the Cyprus Olympic Committee (COC) as well.

A meeting with COC President, Dinos Michaelides, took place, with COC Treasurer Damianos Hadjidamianos and Secretary General Charalambos Lottas attending as well. Mr Hadjidamianos is a former President of the Cyprus Volleyball Federation. Mr Boričić presented the COC President with a commemorative plaque designed for the occasion (see picture).  

The talks with the Cypriot authorities focussed on ways to further grow Volleyball in the country and make Cyprus one of the leading Volleyball nations in their region. Moreover, the CEV President discussed with his counterparts the possibility for Cyprus to host an age group European Championship in the near future.
