Belgrade, Serbia, February 3, 2021. The President of the Bulgarian Volleyball Federation (BVF) and CEV Board of Administration member Lubomir Ganev paid a short visit to Belgrade earlier this week to review and discuss with CEV President Aleksandar Boričić the BVF plans to grow Volleyball in the Balkan country.

Bulgaria have been a Volleyball stronghold for many decades and a trusted partner of the European Volleyball family in the organisation of many major international events as well. This trend is due to continue later this year when Bulgaria will play host to the women’s European Golden League Finals and to the marquee competition for women’s national teams, EuroVolley 2021, doing so together with their neighbours from Serbia, Croatia and Romania.

With Mr Ganev a former Volleyball star from the 90s and still a true icon in his native Bulgaria, the European Volleyball family very much looks forward to relying on his contribution towards growing Volleyball even further across Europe throughout the 2020-2024 term.

Ganev travelled to Belgrade accompanied by Mr Valentin Pomakov, Director of the International Affairs and Events Department at the BVF.
