CEV President engages in productive dialogue with Italy’s League and elite clubs
News
On Sunday morning, CEV President Roko Sikirić and Managing Director Vuk Karanovic had a highly productive exchange with representatives of clubs competing in the Italian women’s national league and with Lega Volley Femminile President Mauro Fabris. This interaction is testament to the commitment of all parties to grow the sport even further, capitalising on the enormous potential of the women’s game.

The CEV President shared that his organisation has undertaken an unprecedented due diligence analysis performed by an external agency, which shall be finalised by April and would lay the groundwork to produce a strategic, well-thought business plan, thereby moving forward with the execution of his plan and vision for the future of European Volleyball.
The European Cups do obviously play a key role in such process and the CEV President listened carefully to the instances of the clubs and the Lega Volley Femminile, with a focus on identifying ways to improve the current competition format as well as the overall marketability of all European competitions, starting with the elite CEV Champions League Volley. Other areas of common interest include the optimisation of the international calendar, the improvement of the conditions provided to clubs and players to flourish, the maximisation of their media exposure across Europe and further beyond, the further exploitation of the many opportunities disclosed by the ever-evolving digital ecosystem and much more.
The CEV President emphasised that any reshuffling of the current European Cups format would only result from a process involving all relevant stakeholders, and that any reform shall not be rushed but rather stem from an analysis that would take everyone’s interests into account and ultimately contribute to raise the profile and value of the CEV Champions League and of all other European competitions.
The meeting held in Bologna aligns with the CEV President’s wish and vision to foster and pursue an open and continued dialogue with all stakeholders to usher in a new era for European Volleyball at all levels.
