CEV President Aleksandar Boričić did attend earlier this week the ceremony organised in Creteil for the official opening of the headquarters the French Volleyball Federation (FFVolley) had moved to some weeks ago. Together with the FIVB President, Dr Ary S. Graça F°, Mr Boričić joined FFVolley President Eric Tanguy and many more high-profile authorities on such a historic day for the French Volleyball family and for the future of the sport in the country.

The FFVolley headquarters in a building ‘christened’ as France Volley will allow the French Volleyball Federation to pursue their mission of further growing the game – with Volleyball experiencing a real boom in France following the historic triumph of their men’s national team at the postponed Tokyo 2020 Olympics, which has contributed – among many other things – to an impressive increase in the number of licensed players across the country. The opening of the new headquarters could not come at a better time, as the countdown to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games continues and the excitement mounts with each day.

“We now can rely on a place that elevates the profile of Volleyball and where we will be proudly hosting guests, coaches, referees. The increase in the number of licensed players produces a subsequent growth in the number of employees working for the Federation as well. We could not hire any more people if we had stayed at our former headquarters in Choisy-le-Roi, as there was no more space available in there and working conditions were becoming more and more challenging. With these premises, we can make plans for the next 20 years as we go for a continued development also with the help of the upcoming Olympics, where we hope for good performances from our teams. We needed headquarters that would be matching our ambitions and the current profile of our sport,” FFVolley President Tanguy said.

“I am happy to represent European Volleyball here. This truly is a fantastic event for our sport. These headquarters open new perspectives for French Volleyball, especially when it comes to the organisation of major events. The French Volleyball Federation is one of the key actors in Europe. The whole of Europe is proud of your Olympic triumph. Medals and results are certainly important, but with today’s opening, you get closer to the achievement of your longer-term goals. I wish Team France the best of luck at the Olympics,” the CEV President said.
