CEV President attends gala to celebrate 40th anniversary of Sultans League

Earlier this week, CEV President Aleksandar Boričić travelled to Istanbul to attend a gala organised by Vodafone and the Turkish Volleyball Federation (TVF) to celebrate the financially most valuable as well as the overall most comprehensive sponsorship agreement ever signed for women’s sports in Türkiye, together with the 40th anniversary of the Sultans League.

The event held at the iconic and luxurious Esma Sultan Mansion in Istanbul was attended by TVF President Mehmet Akif Üstündağ and Vodafone Türkiye CEO Engin Aksoy, as well as by many executives, current and former athletes, coaches, and well-known figures from the business, arts, and society world.

“We are celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Sultans League in partnership with Vodafone. Volleyball continues to develop and to do good things. It is a source of pride that we are the no. 1 in the world at club level as well as with our national team. We have the best league in the world. It is very important for us that our sponsors are with us on this journey.”

Moreover, he thanked the CEV President for his continuing support to Turkish Volleyball. “Mr Boričić really wanted to be with us on this night as well, and I would like to thank him again.” 

At the event, Turkish rapper Norm Ender performed a specially composed anthem to celebrate the 100th anniversary since the establishment of the Republic of Türkiye.
