On Monday, CEV President Roko Sikirić addressed the members of the Management Board of the Italian Volleyball Federation (FIPAV) only a day before a ceremony due to celebrate 80 years since the foundation of their highly successful organisation and the induction of a number of Volleyball icons into the FIPAV Hall of Fame.

The leader of the European Volleyball family was warmly welcomed by the President of the Italian Volleyball Federation, Giuseppe Manfredi

“It is my second time addressing you in my current capacity as CEV President and each time I come to Italy I feel somehow humbled, as I fully recognise the importance, value and quality of the work you all do in cooperation with your clubs and the leagues,” he said. “You truly represent a role model and a benchmark to look up to for the whole European Volleyball family. I am pleased to see that we share the same goals and passion – and drive to elevate the sport. While we are preparing to celebrate 80 years of success for Italian Volleyball, we also anticipate an even brighter future. We feel responsible to ensure this momentous journey continues and we will do so by working together for the successful delivery of major events such as the men’s Champions League Final Four in Torino and the CEV EuroVolley 2026 coming up later this summer,” he added.

“The Opening Match in Napoli will be a truly historic and unmissable event making headlines all over the world. I appreciate your hard work and the investments you are making to grow the game and as we share the same love for the game, I always welcome your ideas and suggestions, so that we can have constructive discussions and conversations around the best ways to ensure a bright future for our beloved sport.”
