CEV distributes more than 20,000 COVID-19 test kits to organisers of national team competitions
News
As the safety and well-being of all involved in international competitions remain paramount, the CEV continues not only to apply comprehensive and strict COVID-19 protocols, but also to support the organisers of all national team events by dispatching and providing antigen rapid tests. The CEV has already dispatched and / or will distribute more than 20,000 such tests only for the organisation of national team competitions throughout the 2021 season.
The detailed hygiene guidelines produced in response to the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic and their implementation have made sure that Volleyball competitions would be taking place safely despite the global health crisis. The performance of antigen tests on site is one of the key measures adopted through such protocols – with the CEV supporting all organisers through the provision of the relevant kits free of charge.
This action is part of the truly robust response implemented by the CEV since the very early stages of the coronavirus pandemic, with an unprecedented ‘Marshall Plan for European Volleyball’ announced as early as in late April 2020.
The CEV’s leadership continues to work closely with all stakeholders and to provide support as and where needed to make sure that Volleyball activities continue to flourish despite the many challenges still brought about by the pandemic.
