CEV and Albanian Volleyball family strengthen cooperation to grow the game

Shortly before the holiday season, CEV President Aleksandar Boričić had the pleasure of meeting with the President of the National Olympic Committee (NOC) of Albania, Mr Fidel Ylli, and the President of the Albanian Volleyball Federation and NOC Vice-President, Mr Erlind Pëllumbi. The conversation and discussions revolved around joint projects for the further growth of Volleyball in Albania, where the Government has allocated as much as USD 5 million for the development of sports in schools, with a focus on basketball and Volleyball.

The main idea is to involve as many as 175 teachers, each one engaged in working with 15 girls and 15 boys. The wish of the CEV is to get involved in educating these teachers and in assisting with the identification of the most talented children from the school programme so that they can ultimately join the best teams from across the Balkan country.

The CEV President confirmed the parties have agreed that a delegation from the Albanian Volleyball Federation will be visiting Luxembourg this coming February 9-10 to acquire from the Development and other departments as much useful information as possible to be able to deliver the training and education of young people in Albania in the most effective way.
