AVF delegation pays visit to home of European Volleyball
News
Earlier this week, a high-profile delegation representing the Azerbaijan Volleyball Federation including AVF Secretary General Faig Orujov and Executive Director Vugar Huseynzade paid a visit to the home of European Volleyball in Luxembourg for a series of meetings with the staff working at the CEV headquarters. It was a great opportunity to lay the groundwork for an even closer cooperation between the two organisations, especially knowing that Azerbaijan is due to host a major international event – the CEV EuroVolley 2026 Women – in about two years.

“We spent two days in Luxembourg and there we had meetings with Mr Thorsten Endres, the CEV Managing Director, and other people working at the CEV headquarters. We discussed many items and had detailed discussions about the CEV EuroVolley Women to be held in our country in 2026, as well as about the further development of Beach Volleyball, Snow Volleyball and school Volleyball in our country,” Mr Orujov says. “We thank the CEV management for organising this productive visit. It is planned to hold such meetings regularly. It is very important to take advantage of the expertise of the CEV staff.”
As CEV President Aleksandar Boričić has repeated many times, the doors of the home of European Volleyball are always open for all stakeholders to facilitate exchanges and learn from one another for the good of the sport and the CEV / AVF talks were held in this very same spirit.
