In mid-September, school started in Gibraltar and slowly but surely, activities run in conjunction with the CEV School Project ‘Play Volleyball – Grow with it’ have resumed as well.

As it is still summer in Gibraltar, the organisers have seized the opportunity to host the Prior Park School on the local sandy court. In cooperation with Mr Rayn Woodward, children from Prior Park will play and learn Beach Volleyball until the end of October. It is important to note that children from Prior Park come in increasing numbers every time. So far there have been 25 players, namely 19 boys and six girls.

Work continued this past September in lunch time club at Westside school with excellent progress. Just like last year, this year the number of students is lower but with a growing trend. So far, 12 boys and 22 girls have responded.

From October, the Gibraltar Volleyball Association (GVA) are planning to start work at St Anne’s Upper Primary School and Westside School, where GVA coaches will hold volleyball lessons as part of physical education classes.
