The Slovenian Volleyball Federation (OZS) has been running the CEV School Project ‘Play Volleyball - Grow with it’ under the auspices of the European Volleyball Confederation since as early as 2018. The initiative, delivered in close cooperation with 49 volleyball clubs through a variety of volleyball and beach volleyball tournaments, festivals, and promotional events, is gaining increasing importance for the development of Volleyball in Slovenia.

Since the start of the project, balls, nets, and net bands have been distributed to more than 168 primary schools and club volleyball schools. Additionally, Slovenian volleyball coaches and teachers have been offered numerous opportunities for free further education through online courses and access to educational materials. Slovenian national team members Rok Možič and Maša Pucelj have recognised the value of the project and joined in as ambassadors, thereby helping to inspire and engage young athletes.

At the end of the school year, the project gained a significant new partner, Nova Ljubljanska Banka d.d. (NLB), which has signed on as a long-term sponsor. NLB Group is the leading banking and financial group headquartered in south-eastern Europe. By supporting the CEV School Project, NLB reaffirms its commitment to one of its four key pillars when it comes to responsible business: supporting both professional and young athletes.

Following the participation of VBO Premium Toothbrush as a general sponsor, the addition of NLB marks another major step forward in the further development of the CEV School Project activities across Slovenia.
