The sports management course run together by the CEV and LUNEX University – International University of Health, Exercise and Sports based in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, is now underway with participation of attendees representing as many as 20 of the CEV’s member Federations.

The programme started with a module focussing on Strategic Management delivered by Mr Geoff Wilson, who has a wealth of experience in supporting sports organisations define their vision, mission, goals and objectives through strategic planning. Mr Wilson has supported in his role as consultant major sports organisations such as FIFA, UEFA, FIBA, and many more.

The start of the course has ignited and raised to an even higher level the expectations of the attendees.

“I hope to learn the necessary management skills needed to make our federation future-proof. As the person responsible for club development and grassroots sport, I am curious to learn about the latest insights and how other Federations approach this area. I am convinced that we all need to work together to further develop our beautiful sport in all our countries,” said Stijn Van Kerckhove, Club Support Coordinator at Volley Vlaanderen / Volley Belgium.

“With the help of this programme, I expect to get better when performing my daily tasks in the Federation, but more specifically to learn some new management and organising skills. My main goal is to develop Beach Volleyball in Estonia for the better, so I really hope to find some new tools from these courses to do and achieve that in the future!” said Liis Nesler, Beach Volleyball Manager at the Estonian Volleyball Federation.

“The wide range of topics covering all important parameters related to the work of a National Federation and very experienced lecturers with an extensive background in all areas of the sports business are high assets of an advanced programme such as the CEV European Volleyball management course. I am convinced that the course will highly contribute to expand the knowledge of the attendees, as well as support National Federations through direct implementation of the learning tools. Moreover, close collaboration during the course will contribute to networking and this can be very beneficial for all future NF projects by connecting people. I would like to congratulate the CEV Development Department for initiating the course and LUNEX University for delivering such a high-value product,” said Bojana Dukić, Project Coordinator at the Volleyball Federation of Serbia.
