CEV and iCoachKids join forces to help grow the game at the grassroots level
News
In line with the extensive efforts made to grow the game at the grassroots level and to provide further educational opportunities to all members of the Volleyball family, the CEV recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with iCoachKids.
Vuk Karanovic“We realised from the very beginning of our conversations with iCoachKids that we share the same goals and wish to help coaches and teachers develop the skills of their students in a fun, yet professional environment. This partnership will help us take our efforts to educate the Volleyball community to the next level, especially when it comes to all those that work tirelessly to inspire kids to play Volleyball. Their role is essential to grow the game and they need our full support.”
CEV Head of Development
Originally, the iCoachKids was a not-for-profit project co-funded by the European Commission. Their continued global movement champions sport education, policy and practice to support the development of a “specialist children coaching workforce” across the European Union.
Their overall aim to keep coaches suitably trained and inspired is in complete alignment with the CEV Development Department’s strategic goals, so the decision to create this partnership has come naturally to both parties. This strong alliance will support the sharing of knowledge, creation of new networks and allow for the joint development of international resources and materials that promote shared objectives.
The signing of the MoU coincides with the launch of a series of customised online courses made available through the CEV Campus to coaches and physical education teachers working with kids at the entry level of the game.

Dr Sergio Lara-Bercial“This partnership is a fantastic step forward for iCoachKids. CEV is fully committed to supporting youth coaches and has a huge wealth of knowledge and resources to share with the iCoachKids global community. This collaboration will also help us spread the message of ICK to thousands of Volleyball coaches across Europe. It is a perfect match!”
