The world’s veteran Volleyball community is getting ready for another major international celebration of the sport, as IVVA heads to Benidorm for the 2026 World Veteran Volleyball Championship this October.
Following a record-breaking 2025 edition, which brought together 52 indoor teams and 130 Beach Volleyball teams from 32 countries, IVVA returns to Spain with the same ambition: to bring together the very best of veteran Volleyball while creating an unforgettable experience for players from around the world.
What makes the IVVA World Championship special is not only its size, but the unique community behind it. Former professionals, long-time club players and passionate Volleyball lovers share the same courts, compete for the same trophies and often leave the tournament with friendships that last far beyond the final whistle.
The 2026 championship will feature Volleyball and Beach Volleyball competitions for men and women across age categories from 35+ to 65+, creating a truly international meeting point for generations of players.
Volleyball legends return to the court
One of the highlights of the championship will be a special Exhibition All-Star Match, bringing some of the biggest names in Volleyball together on the court. Former Olympic and international stars Javier Bosma and Rafael Pascual will take part as challengers in the Men’s 55+ category, while Raúl Mesa and Přemysl Kubala will step onto the court as challengers in the Men’s 35+ category.
The exhibition matches will add another unique dimension to the World Championship, bringing legendary names and veteran competitors together in a special celebration of the sport.
And there could hardly be a more fitting setting for it than Benidorm. With its Mediterranean beaches, iconic seafront and vibrant international atmosphere, the city offers the perfect backdrop for a championship where sport and social life naturally come together. Matches, training sessions, beach time and evening celebrations will all be part of the IVVA experience.

Beyond the competition, participants can look forward to welcome and closing events, training opportunities, livestreamed finals, professional referees, medical support and the atmosphere that has become a defining part of IVVA championships.
Because veteran Volleyball is about more than age. It is about passion, competition, friendship and the desire to keep playing the game you love. Benidorm 2026 is ready.
And when the final ball is played in Spain, the IVVA journey will continue.
Next stop: Prague 2027
From 1-5 June 2027, the IVVA European Veteran Volleyball Championship will move to Prague, Czechia, continuing the journey of the international veteran Volleyball family.
