In what represented a truly magnificent example of collaboration and a shared vision for the future of Volleyball, the fifth Congress of the Catalan Volleyball Federation was a resounding success, bringing together nearly 500 participants and top-level speakers from various sectors of the sport: coaches from prestigious clubs like Perugia and Trento, representatives of the French and Spanish national teams, and the president of FC Barcelona.

Arturo Di Giacomo and Willy Paredes joined members of the Catalan Volleyball family for inspiring talks

The presence of Willy Paredes and Arturo Di Giacomo, who chair the FIVB Rules of the Game and Refereeing Commission and CEV European Refereeing Commission, respectively, served as a reminder of how much the FIVB and the CEV share the same vision regarding the education, training, and development of referees.

Their shared ambition is clear: to give them the tools, knowledge, and support necessary to reach the highest level, as it was for many to see during the gold medal match of the CEV Trendyol EuroVolley 2026 Women contested on Sunday in Istanbul. However, beyond refereeing, this congress demonstrated something even more essential: the future of Volleyball depends on bringing all its stakeholders together. Players, coaches, referees, managers, clubs, federations, and institutions must continue to share their experiences, knowledge, and visions. It is by working together that they can advance the sport and build the Volleyball of tomorrow.
