The 2022 edition of the VFA Volleyball Cup organised by the Volleyball Federation of Armenia delivered a series of very exciting matches – and a few surprises as well, as all teams and their respective players fought hard to achieve success.

Team KHMOMM emerged as the eventual winners of the women’s competition without suffering a single loss. BSU, Van, Artsakh and Avan complete the final standings in second, third, fourth and fifth place, respectively. The top three teams received medals and diplomas, with the much-desired trophy for the winners going to KHMOMM.

The Volleyball Federation of Armenia recognised and awarded the best players of the women’s tournament – with Meri Poghosyan and Veronika Koshkaryan of Team KHMOMM joined in this elite group by Sona Sahakyan and Elen Arakelyan (BSU), Maria Hovhannisyan (Artsakh), and Parisa of Team Van.

The men’s competition was a close affair until the end, with three teams still in contention for the title until the last round of action. CSKA won their last match 3-0 against NUACA, but this was only enough to secure second place. MSKH beat FIMA 3-1 later in the day, with the two teams claiming first and third place in the final standing, respectively. Team NUACA and Gyumri wrapped up the charts in fourth and fifth.

Smbat Gevorgyan and Vardan Poghosyan (CSKA), Yuri Grigoryan and Ashot Balabekyan (FIMA), Arman Poghosyan and Vahe Nazaryan (MSKH) received the individual prizes.
