G.E. Sridharan

Taking it to The Next Level

As a player from 1970-1991 and a coach since 1991, Mr. Sridharan has become a household name for Indian Volleyball. After receiving a coaching diploma from NIS in Bangalore in 1991, he pursued the role as Head Coach for the India junior men's national Volleyball team. It was 2003 when India won its first gold medal in the Asian youth championship, and the first silver medal in 2004 at the World youth championships.

Sridharan's resume of achievements in coaching did not stop there:

Gold Medal

South Asian Games in 2004, 2010, 2016, 2020

Central Asian Championship in 2007

Silver Medal

Asia Cup in 2016

Bronze Medal

Asia Cup in 2010

With all the coaching success, it's not a surprise that G.E. Sridharan received several awards from the Government of India. In order to see this hard work through, it is now important to invest back into the community of upcoming coaches and leaders. His long-term goal remains focused on developing a pool of young talents, and sharing knowledge with young coaches who are willing to take Volleyball to the next level.

We at CEV are pleased to have G.E. Sridharan join the Euro-Asia Coaches Cooperation project as a nominated expert to share his knowledge, and provide the coaches with a new, diverse skillset.
