Moscow, Russia, March 29, 2016. A meeting of the Executive Committee of the Eastern European Volleyball Zonal Association (EEVZA) was held last weekend in the Russian capital. The meeting was chaired by EEVZA President Vladimir Patkin and attended by EEVZA Vice Presidents Maris Pekalis and Witold Roman as well as by EEVZA Secretary General, Inara Brokane.
The Executive Committee members adopted the Competitions Regulations for the 2016 Volleyball and Beach Volleyball tournaments to be organised by EEVZA, as well as the 2015 Financial Report and the 2016 Budget. On top of this, the ExCom reviewed plans for the 2016 and 2017 calendar of zonal competitions.
Since the first edition of the CEV U16 Women and U17 Men Volleyball European Championships will be organised next year and the qualification phase is to be played at zonal level, the 2016 competition calendar was amended accordingly in order to include this age group as well. Plans were also drafted for the 2017 EEVZA competitions and some key items about their organisation were discussed as well.
The ExCom members also reviewed a number of marketing items, including the possibility to sign a sponsor that would support the EEVZA activities, and re-affirmed the commitment of the Zonal Association to contribute to the education of all stakeholders involved in the delivery of the EEVZA competitions as well as in the further development of the sport across all member countries.
