Kosovo Federation launch pilot project in Gjakova
News
April marked a significant milestone for the CEV School Project ‘Play Volleyball - Grow with it’ in Kosovo, as the Kosovo Volleyball Federation (FVK) successfully launched a pilot project for a school league in the city of Gjakova.
The league aims to promote Volleyball among primary school children and foster a competitive spirit within the community. The participating schools in the inaugural edition are Zekeria Rexha, Yll Morina, Fehmi Agani, and Mazllum Këpuska.
With the generous support of the Vellaznimi Volleyball Team, who sponsored jerseys and managed the league, the Kosovo Volleyball Federation launched the league in the best possible manner. Four teams, comprising 14 players aged under 13, participated. The matches were attended by more than 500 spectators, predominantly children aged 8-10, thus creating a vibrant and enthusiastic atmosphere to perform in.
Building on the success of the pilot project, the FVK goal is to expand the league further to have more than eight teams participating in Gjakova when it resumes in September. Additionally, the FVK are exploring opportunities to implement similar leagues in other cities, thereby spreading the joy of Volleyball to an even wider audience.
