This past month, the Faroese Volleyball Association took the CEV School Project ‘Play Volleyball – Grow with it’ to the village of Sørvágur, which has a population of some 1,300 inhabitants.

The volleyball session organised there involved 16 students – both girls and boys. This village has a very strong connection with Volleyball, since almost everyone there plays in the local volleyball club. Therefore, it did not make any sense to start with the basics, since their PE teacher is a volleyball coach as well, so they are in very good hands when it comes to their current and future development!

Moreover, in February the Faroese Volleyball Association worked on the delivery of their first school tournament, which will be held in the village of Klaksvík in the northern section of the archipelago. The event will involve five schools, seven classes, 156 players/students divided into 32 teams. Each team will be playing three matches, thereby accounting for 48 matches altogether.
