Podgorica, Montenegro, June 10, 2019. Another successful season - the fourth in a row - of the EKO Mini Volleyball league finished in a great ambience on the main square of Podgorica, the capital city of Montenegro. There was a record number of participants - 650 girls and boys from 56 teams and 19 clubs, aged 9 to 12, played 235 games. The competition organised by the Volleyball Federation of Montenegro (OSCG) with the sponsorship of Jugopetrol AD, EKO gas stations and the support of the Ministry of Sport and Youth and the Secretariat for Culture and Sports of Podgorica was a huge success. The EKO Mini Volleyball league is part of the CEV School Project as well.

OSCG President, Mr Cvetko Pajković said, “This is, perhaps, the most important competition in Montenegrin Volleyball. This year our men’s national team will be making their debut at the European Championship, and we just claimed two gold medals at the Games of the Small States of Europe. However, we want continuity of good results and we want to see our players play a leading role on the international stage. That is why we are looking forward to seeing this EKO Mini Volleyball league grow from year to year.”

“I am especially happy to see so many happy and smiling children on a Volleyball court. I hope it will be the same through their entire career, regardless of the results they achieve,” said the Executive Director of Jugopetrol Antonis Semelides when addressing the young participants and he wished them a long and successful career in Volleyball.

Mr Pajković presented his thanks for their contribution to the project to the CEV, represented by Mr Ricardo Leite from the CEV Technical and Development Department, Jugopetrol AD and their Executive Director Antonis Semelides, as well as to the Ministry of Sport and Youth and the Secretariat for Culture and Sport of Podgorica.

The Volleyball Federation of Montenegro provided medals for all children, because all participants in this project are winners!
