Match Report

Italy shows their efficiency against Slovenia

Slovenia challenged Italy in the first set and forced them to a close game which ended 27-25 in Italy's favour. In the second set, Slovenia was totally out of focus and couldn't maintain the level. This led to the set having the largest point difference in Pool B (25-8). Four Italian players even had 100% score in reception, leading the way for the setter Ofelia Malinov to distribute passes all over the court and a comfortable win for Italy.

Day 5 Recap

Play

"We played very well in the block-defense line. We also organized the defense in good way. We have achieved our goals for this match. It's very important to follow the next steps at these championships"

Cristina Chirichella
middle blocker Italy

"In the first set we showed a great game. Losing at the very end made it difficult for us to return emotionally and focus on our game. In the next two sets the Italians found a way to stop us"

Sasa Planinsec
