This matchup features the winners of three out of the last four editions of the European League. Ukraine claimed top honours in 2017, while Estonia were the winning side in 2016 and 2018. With some 1,500 Estonian fans due to travel to the Netherlands for EuroVolley, there will be lots of fan support despite Estonia's 0-4 record. Ukraine book their ticket to the playoff round with a 3-0 win over Estonia

On Wednesday afternoon the team of Ukraine qualified for the eight final of EuroVolley. A tremendous success for the team of head coach Ugis Krastins, who already has three victories in pool D. In the match versus Estonia, Ukraine dominated the whole time. The Estonians, supported by 1500 enthusiastic fans, didn’t manage to win a match in this edition of EuroVolley. Oleh Plotnytskyi from Ukraine crowned himself top scorer in Amsterdam today. The left-handed outside hitter who will play on Sir Safety PERUGIA next season scored 15 points. His teammate Dmytro Viietskyi followed with 14 points. On Thursday, Ukraine will play their last match in pool D, when they meet pool leader Poland.
