The fourth meeting of the Netherlands and Estonia this summer, this is bound to be a tight and crucial affair.  Meeting three times already in the European Golden League, the team in Orange currently lead the way with two wins, including the straight sets victory that brought the Bronze medal from this year’s Finals in Tallinn. The Netherlands want a win to secure 2nd place in the pool, while Estonia is in do-or-die mode as they have not won a match yet.

Von Solkema, Parkinson, and Jorna put up a monster block

"We didn't do much different (this game). We just believed in ourselves and did the same routine. We have played against Estonia a couple of times, so we know if we reach our level, we can win this game."

The Netherlands beats Estonia 3-1 in front of an electric Dutch and Estonian crowd

Article 17 September 2019

‘Oranje’ beat Estonia on Tuesday night with 3-1 after a hard-fought battle. Estonia started out great in front of 1500 Estonians supporters when they won the first set 25-22. After this surprising start, The Netherlands succeeded in turning the match around. With the consistently great Nimir Abdelaziz (27 points) as a leader, Holland won the match 3-1. The Netherlands managed to secure a spot in the eight final of EuroVolley. They will play in front of their home crowd on Saturday in Apeldoorn.
