News
The construction of the National Volleyball Training Centre in Belgrade began in June 2023, when the groundbreaking ceremony was attended by Ms Ana Brnabić, then Prime Minister of Serbia, and now President of the Serbian Parliament, and Mr Zoran Gajić, Minister of Sports (see here). After almost 18 months, it can be said that it will be a truly fascinating complex, much to the pride of all players, clubs, organisations, and fans alike.
The National Volleyball Centre consists of three basic, functionally connected units withal necessary supporting infrastructure. Two sports halls have been built within the National Centre, where Volleyball can be played across as many as five courts at the same time. Accommodation facilities for athletes, restaurants, three conference rooms, a spa centre with a swimming pool, a medical unit, a gym, offices for the Volleyball Federation of Serbia, as well as all supporting facilities, including an underground garage and a large open parking lot, are planned and well underway.
The organisation of international competitions under the auspices of the European Volleyball Confederation (CEV) and the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) has been envisioned as well.
The construction of the National Volleyball Training Centre in New Belgrade continues, with its completion and grand opening planned for 2025.
