The Belarus Volleyball Federation (BVF) has brought the CEV School Volleyball project to the primary school no. 10 in the city of Novopolotsk, Vitebsk Region, thus expanding the reach of the programme even further.

Third-graders took part in fun relay races and had a great time with the mascot of the Belarus Volleyball Federation, Volik.

Two coaches – Yuri Bondar and Irina Bondar – working at SDUSHOR (Specialized Children and Youth Sports School of the Olympic Reserve) no. 2 ran the Volleyball masterclass. These coaches have a wealth of experience and they have helped grow many talented Volleyball players – including the current libero of the Belarusian women’s national team, Viktoryia Panasenka. Ms Bondar received a special recognition for nurturing the talent of players who have made it to the highest level in Belarusian Volleyball – including members of the national team for girls born in 2008.

The President of the Belarus Volleyball Federation, Mr Vladimir Vashchanka, together with Anastasia Karnach, who is in charge of development activities at the BVF, presented the school with sports equipment provided by the CEV.

The children joining the Volleyball class featured in one of four sub-groups. They all returned home with valuable souvenirs and medals – which shall motivate them to stay close to the Volleyball game, as the School Project aims also at providing an extra boost of energy to coaches and physical education teachers working with the Eastern European country’s youngsters.
