The Volleyball Federation of Armenia (VFA) continues its extensive work to develop and spread Volleyball in the region via the CEV School Project.

On Wednesday, October 20, a VFA delegation visited the city of Gyumri. It is the second most populous city in Armenia, located in the northwestern section of the Shirak region, some 126 km from the country’s capital, Yerevan.

Two schools played host to as many Volleyball festivals and masterclasses attended, among others, by international Volleyball referee Narek Shirinyan as well. The first such festival took place at the Gyumri Primary School No.19, with 8th graders in attendance. It was, as for many other young pupils across the Caucasus country, a truly special opportunity to learn more about the rules of the game and try to perform some basic exercises.

The school No.30 was next on the agenda, with students from the eighth grade joining in the activities there as well. With the school offering excellent conditions for the delivery of a very successful Volleyball masterclass, it was obvious that the students enjoyed their experience very much.

The VFA provided both schools with much-needed sports equipment, so that their pupils can continue to play Volleyball and grow their skills with the help of their respective physical education teachers.
