Volleyball Denmark and their local partners have run a series of actions throughout the month of November to inspire more and more children to play Volleyball.

The addition of Volleyball to the curriculum and programme of physical education classes makes a lot of sense for those working at Vestbjerg Volleyball Club. They have been visiting Vestbjerg school for quite some time, where, together with the local teachers, have taught the children how to play Kidsvolley. There were some very happy kids who learned the game very quickly and – hopefully – many of them will be joining the local club soon.

Marienlyst Volley are in the process of building a youth section of their club, and so they are organising school competitions for schools from the local area. At the end of November, Marienlyst Volley received a visit from Sct. Hans School, which came with about 130 children. The kids had a fun day playing with balls provided by the CEV and finally each class elected their own winner. The teachers also had a good experience and suggested that it should become a tradition to organise such an activity every year in November.

Second graders from Østerstarup school joined School Project activities as well. On the Thursday of two consecutive weeks, the young students had a lot of fun with Kidsvolley, as club coach Thomas Gravgaard said after visiting the school. ØSVN is a small club that sees school cooperation as very important to recruit more members.

A Kidsvolley competition for pupils from grades 2-4 took place at Hundestedhallerne. At the end of a very exciting day, with much fun and fight on the court, the trophy for the winners went to Magleblikskolen. Moreover, a ‘teen Volleyball event’ was held at the very same venue, involving kids from Ølsted, Magleblik and Hundested School. The programme featured many interesting matches, with class 7.A from Hundested School eventually emerging as the winners of the competition.
