CEV President Aleksandar Boričić was obviously delighted to have the opportunity to host the FIVB President – with Dr Graça addressing the CEV Board of Administration to share the latest developments within the FIVB.

The FIVB President highlighted the support provided to National Federations in Europe and around the world:

“Since 2017, we have approved 110 projects for the 56 National Federations in Europe with a total investment of over 3 million CHF. This is in addition to supporting Zonal Associations. These 110 projects are part of a total of 521 projects around the world approved since 2017, with a total investment of more than 11 million CHF.”

What ensued was a very productive exchange of views on the future of the sport. The FIVB and the CEV will continue to work hand in hand to provide more opportunities for all of their members to grow the game and raise its profile, especially through the delivery of major events such as the highly anticipated CEV Champions League Volley 2022 Super Finals. These represent a valuable product for sponsors, broadcasters and other partners as well.

In doing so, the FIVB and the CEV will always be listening to the voices and instances of all stakeholders, in an open, frank, and respectful exchange that can only be instrumental to the further development of the sport. Both Dr Graça and Mr Boričić emphasised the importance of such continuous communication within the Volleyball family in order to identify the best possible solutions, while acknowledging that the primary goal remains to grow the game at the grassroots as much as at the elite level.

Moreover, the CEV Board of Administration members had a productive discussion on the key strategic priorities identified to foster the further development of the sport and endorsed a number of decisions prior to the start of the European Cups 2023. The registration process is due to open soon and it will set the tone for yet another exciting campaign featuring already well-established as well as up-and-coming teams from across the whole of Europe.
