The South American Volleyball Confederation consists of 12 affiliated member National Volleyball Federations and is known as Confederación Sudamericana de Vóleibol (CSV).  With their offices based in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, the CSV was founded in 1946 and stands as the oldest of all volleyball continental confederations.

Organising continental competitions such as the South American Men's Volleyball Championship since 1951, the CSV also co-organises Pan-American tournaments with NORCECA.
