Renato Arena (ITA)
Senior Vice-President
A former handball player and international referee and now retired businessperson Mr Arena has been the CEV Senior Vice-President since 2015. He is in charge of the organisation and delivery of the CEV’s top sports events. After chairing the Volleyball Federation of the Province of Enna from 1984 to 1996, he was a member of the Board of Administration of the Italian Volleyball Federation (FIPAV) from 1996 to 2008, with his areas of responsibility including international events, refereeing and Beach Volleyball.
A member of the Automobile Club d’Italia as well as of the Consorzio Ente Autodromo di Pergusa, with whom he was involved in the organisation of many racing events, Mr Arena was a CEV Vice President from 2005 to 2015 and the President of the European Beach Volleyball Commission (EBVC) for many years up to 2015 as well. A former President of the FIVB World League Council, Mr Arena is also an FIVB Executive Vice-President. He held the position of Executive Director in the Organising Committee of three consecutive FIVB Volleyball World Championships hosted in his native Italy in 2010, 2014 and 2018.
