Lunchtime clubs involve more and more kids in Gibraltar
News
Work continues in Gibraltar to inspire the next generation of Volleyball players with the help of the CEV School Project ‘Play Volleyball – Grow with it’. The programme has achieved much success at Westside school where 15 boys and 20 girls have responded to join lunch-time activities.

It has helped in the delivery of regular activities that one class there already had Volleyball as part of their curriculum. The coach appointed by the Gibraltar Volleyball Association (GVA) has been working during regular physical education classes in cooperation with Mrs Claire Nunez.
Mrs Emma Vaughan continues with the delivery of a lunchtime club at St. Bernard’s Middle School. The club currently has 28 participants, equally divided between boys and girls.
Work at St Anne’s Upper Primary School has finished, at least with the third graders, and in December activities have started with a new class and teacher. GVA coaches hold Volleyball lessons as part of physical education classes. In this school, with the help of Mrs Arianne Garro, a lunchtime club started with the participation of some 15 boys and 19 girls.
In January, the GVA will try to find a way to start a lunchtime club and will be visiting physical education classes in the local second biggest school, Bayside. Moreover, the GVA has devised plans to join the third edition of #1DayMore4Volleyball scheduled for February 29.
