Volleyball Ireland are working extensively to grow the game in their country – and they are doing so with the help of the CEV School Project ‘Play Volleyball – Grow with it’. Recently, more than 900 young players, aged nine to 14, took part in seven events held across Ireland – more specifically in Galway, Limerick, Laois, Kilkenny, Kerry and Dublin.

All participants received at the end-of-season event held on April 10 the medals designed by the CEV specifically for the School Project. Moreover, schools joining the final blitz also received some project balls, as did the local clubs that supported the teachers in preparing the students to learn and play Volleyball.

In some cases, older students have been running events and trainings. This is a positive development as well, as they learn skills in coaching and refereeing and help ensure the younger ones are ready for the blitz festivals.
