EVGC partners meet in Frankfurt and call on all European Federations to join the movement for gender equality
News
Earlier this week, partners of the EmpowHER Volleyball Game Changer (EVGC) project gathered in Frankfurt, Germany, for a focused two-day meeting hosted at the German Volleyball Federation headquarters. Bringing together National Federations from Albania, Georgia, Germany, Luxembourg, Malta, and Sweden, along with the European Observatoire of Sport and Employment (EOSE), the EOC EU Office, and the CEV Development team, the meeting served to assess project progress and set the course for the next steps.

Strengthening the Survey, Broadening the Impact
A key priority was the ongoing EVGC Survey, aimed at mapping gender representation in volleyball leadership structures. Partners reviewed the response status, addressed barriers to participation, and aligned on the need for both quantitative and qualitative data - including potential interviews - to provide a deeper understanding of the current landscape.
Crucially, the survey is now open to all European National Federations. Broader participation is essential: the more diverse and representative the responses - across federations of varying sizes, regions, and cultural contexts - the stronger the foundation for tailored actions and real impact. Every voice counts in building a more inclusive future for Volleyball.

From Data to Action
Partners agreed on a clear analysis framework that will group federations by their stage of readiness regarding gender equality in leadership. This will help tailor future resources, including a toolkit and customised recommendations. Comparisons with good practices from other sectors will further enrich the analysis and support meaningful progress across Europe.

Promoting the Project and its Results
The group also focused on how to communicate and promote project outcomes effectively. A dedicated EVGC landing page will soon launch on the CEV website, featuring results, tools, and materials to support National Federations. Partners identified opportunities to represent the project at upcoming EU and national level events.
As the EVGC project enters a new phase, the Frankfurt meeting underscored a key message: true change requires the involvement of the entire European Volleyball community. Every federation’s participation will help shape a stronger, more equitable game for the future!
