CEV mourns passing of former Infront Italy President Marco Bogarelli

Luxembourg, March 17, 2021. It is with deep sadness that the European Volleyball family has learned of the passing of Mr Marco Bogarelli, former President of Infront Italy and a long-time friend and partner of the CEV. Bogarelli passed away on Tuesday in Milan at the age of 64 after contracting the novel coronavirus, which resulted in pneumonia and his subsequent hospitalisation.
A true sports enthusiast and a guru in marketing TV rights, Bogarelli had founded his own company Media Partners back in 1995. Only a few years later, he joined forces with the CEV to provide invaluable assistance and expertise through his team to promote the flagship Volleyball competition for national teams, now known as EuroVolley, and improve its broadcasting standards.
The close cooperation with Bogarelli continued after Infront Sports & Media bought Media Partners in 2006 and he subsequently became the president of Infront Italy. Back in 2013, he was highly instrumental to the extension of the partnership between the CEV and Infront, which eventually included, starting from 2014, the Beach Volleyball European Championships as well.
The CEV leadership wishes to extend heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Mr Bogarelli. He was not only an extremely skilful, innovation-driven and knowledgeable top manager, but a true friend of the European Volleyball family too.
