CEV, four co-hosts share same excitement for EuroVolley 2026 Women

Türkiye, Czechia, Azerbaijan, and Sweden are due to co-host the next edition of the CEV EuroVolley Women in the summer of 2026. With palpable energy and high motivation, representatives of the four countries convened on Thursday at the home of European Volleyball in Luxembourg for a kick-off meeting joined by members of the CEV staff that set the tone for the busy months ahead.
Türkiye will be welcoming the continental elite of the sport as the reigning European champions following their historic triumph from last year in Brussels. Czechia progressed earlier this summer to the elite FIVB Volleyball Nations League, Sweden are the reigning European Golden League champions and Azerbaijan will be trying to reignite the same Volleyball fever that the Caucasus country experienced in 2017 when they co-hosted the event together with Georgia.
As in the previous day’s meeting with the four organisers of the men’s competition, the conversation revolved around a variety of topics such as competition matters, logistics, site visits, media and digital activities, marketing and promotion, branding, etc. to ensure that a solid foundation is laid for the huge amount of work that is awaiting all parties involved.
Türkiye will be playing host to the event from the pool stage up until the medal matches, with Brno, Czechia hosting one group as well as half of the 8th and quarterfinal games. Baku, Azerbaijan and Göteborg, Sweden, will host the remaining two pools. This will be the fourth straight edition of CEV EuroVolley Women to take place across four countries since the major revamping of the continental championship that happened in conjunction with the 2019 event. Back then, Türkiye did host the competition as well, with their team losing a dramatic final to Serbia – a disappointment for which they made amends last year in Belgium’s capital city.
