CEV Board of Administration identifies modernisation and commercialisation as key priorities for European Volleyball family

CEV President Roko Sikirić and his colleagues from the CEV Board of Administration did convene on Tuesday at the home of European Volleyball in Luxembourg for the last such meeting of the year where they discussed a variety of ideas and devised ambitious plans to elevate the sport and increase its marketability.
As previously announced, the CEV is currently undertaking an unprecedented due diligence analysis of its assets with the support of an external partner, which will help take informed decisions and define the strategic plan to follow throughout the 2024-2028 term.
To this extent, a revamping of the CEV competitions is envisioned and the CEV Board of Administration has already identified actions likely to improve the appeal and attractiveness of the elite CEV Champions League Volley for fans, clubs, sponsors, partners, and media alike. Further analysis will be undertaken before any changes to the current competition format are announced.
The current season will be reaching its climax in early May with the return of the Final Four tournaments and the CEV is in advanced negotiations with potential partners across Europe – with the ultimate goal of the new CEV leadership being a multi-year agreement with the same host city as per the model already in place across many other sports.
To modernise European Volleyball and to increase future sponsorship opportunities, the CEV Board of Administration members did also agree to pursue a further evolution of the CEV’s digital ecosystem with a focus on the commercialisation of its digital assets – which include the CEV’s own OTT platform EuroVolleyTV, the CEV website and official social media accounts.
Moreover, discussions revolved also around the partnership with Infront, the CEV’s media agency, with a focus on the plans and cooperation for the next four years.
The young, highly dynamic and energetic leadership that emerged from the elections contested earlier this summer continues to work hard to pursue excellence, good governance, and transparency, while exploring innovative avenues to usher in a new era for European Volleyball.
